Middle Caicos

About Middle Caicos

The largest island in the TCI and accessible via a causeway from North Caicos, Middle Caicos stretches 48 square miles. Ripe for development in the areas of agriculture and eco-tourism, Middle Caicos features the largest above ground cave system in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos archipelago, containing artifacts from the once indigenous Lucayan Indians and the Bambarra settlement which hosted shipwrecked survivors from the African tribe of Bambarra.

Middle Caicos is a lush island suitable for agriculture, from medicinal herbs and plants like aloe vera, to fruit trees. Current agricultural yields grown primarily for local consumption include cassava, okra, guava, tamarinds, sapodillas, sugar apples
and corn.
