About East Caicos

At 21.7 square miles, East Caicos is the fourth largest island in the Turks and Caicos and additionally the largest uninhabited island with a 17 mile beach located on the north coast of the island. It is home to the highest point in the TCI, Flamingo Hill standing at 48 meters. Home to notable shipwrecks such as the Trouvadore and the Enterprise, East Caicos also has a flourishing mangrove ecosystem and though the island is uninhabited it was the site of industrious endeavors as sisal farming and cattle grazing in the 1800s which has since ceased in the abandoned town Jacksonville.
